We had looked at garden benches previously but never decided on one we liked so when Sloane and Sons asked us to review one of their benches I was of course happy to! The choice on their website was good with a good variety of styles and sizes with something for everyone.
The bench we chose was the Oxford Teak Weave Back from their selection of Teak Benches which is a 3 Seater bench for £249 at 1.5m long and including next day delivery free. It looks sturdy and good quality but we all know websites can be deceiving with photos so I waited until it arrived to see if it was as good as it seemed.
The Delivery
The bench arrived in a huge box by courier well packaged and secured with ties to ensure the parts didn’t move around during delivery. The courier brought the box right into our house which is brilliant as it was pretty big and heavy!
The Assembly and Instructions
It was really easy to assemble, the bench literally came in just 5 pieces with 4 screws and 12 dowels. From start to finish it took 20 minutes to assemble and that included getting all the bits out of the box! It could easily be done by one person though of course two is always easier. I must say I expected it to be much harder to assemble than it was and expected my review to be telling you about loads of pieces, looking for various tools etc but it needed a hammer and screwdriver and that was it!
Quality
I was very impressed that the bench was just as shown on the website and of great quality with thick well-cut wood and it fitted together well. The bench is very comfortable and with a nice deep seat. It definitely feels like a quality bench, not like the cheap ones you can get at discount stores that don’t last long.
Additional Extras
The website also offer covers, teak oil, cushions etc so everything you want to make your garden seating perfect is there in one place! I didn’t have any of the extras but I am sure if they are as good quality as the bench they will be worth it.
